Air Quality Fact

Ozone was found to cause breathing problems, damage crops and corrode buildings. Local agriculture in particular absorbed significant losses, and it was largely the organized efforts of Bay Area farms that generated the political will to establish the first regional air district.

Notice of Limited Service

Air District websites, phone systems and services will have limited availability during a utility outage over the weekend of Friday, October 5 through Monday, October 8

The Websites and related services, including Widgets and RSS Feeds, will go down for a few hours late on the night of Friday, October 5. Service will resume on the morning of Saturday, October 6. The following systems and pages will remain offline over the weekend:

  • All Registrations
  • Real-Time Air Quality and Monitoring Data
  • Flare Monitoring Data
  • Air Monitoring Map
  • Met Data Map
  • Weather Tower Map
  • Emission Bank Status
  • BACT / TBACT Workbook

The Websites and related services, including Widgets and RSS Feeds, will go down for a few hours late on the night of Sunday, October 7. Most services will resume on Monday, October 8.

The Air District's Real Time Air Quality and Monitoring Data webpages will resume service on Tuesday, October 9.
