Gas Station Vapor Recovery

State Upgrade Required

The latest module of California ’s Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) regulations required gas stations with underground tanks to upgrade their gasoline dispensing equipment by April 1, 2009. The upgrade reduces smog forming and air toxic emissions from fuel dispensing operations at gas stations.

The Air District is taking reasonable steps and exercising enforcement discretion to bring any non-complying gas stations into compliance by working with the facilities to develop Compliance Schedules to establish specific steps to bring the facilities into compliance without shutting down their operations.
