Conservation Tip

Most motorists don't realize that a quick one-mile trip to the dry cleaners emits up to 70 percent as much pollution as a ten-mile excursion with several stops. If Bay Area residents could cut their cold starts by 25 percent, we could remove up to 97 tons of pollutants from the air each day. What an achievement!

Public Notice - Permit Applications - 2010

The Air District issues a Public Notice whenever we receive a permit application for a new or modified source of air pollution located within 1,000 feet of a school site. Notices are distributed to the parents or guardians of students enrolled at schools located within ¼ mile, and all residents and businesses located within 1,000 feet, of the proposed source. There is a 30-day period for the public to comment on a proposed project. Specific instructions for submitting a comment are contained within the Public Notices below.
