Ground Level Monitors are air-quality monitoring stations that are required in the permit conditions for certain large industrial facilities such as oil refineries. The facility operates the monitoring equipment but the Bay Area Air Quality Management District audits and validates the data.
This map shows the location of Ground Level Monitors in the Bay Area.
The pink areas show the location of each facility with a Ground Level Monitor. From left to right, they are:
• Chevron (Richmond)
• Unocal (Rodeo)
• Valero (Benicia)
• Conoco / Shell (Martinez)
• Tesoro (Martinez)
The blue triangles show Ground Level Monitor locations. The green dots show monitoring sites that are operated by the Air District as part of its network of 28 air monitoring sites throughout the Bay Area.
