Air quality in the Bay Area has improved significantly since the Air District was created in the fall of 1955.  But the region will face many challenges in the years ahead, as we work with Bay Area residents to keep the air clear and the skies blue.

Wood Burning Status

The 2009-10 Winter Spare the Air season ended on February 28. There is currently no wood burning ban in place.

The Bay Area burn status will be updated daily during the 2010-11 Winter Spare the Air season beginning November 1.

Tri-Valley Resource Team

The Tri-Valley Air Quality Resource Team is pleased to announce the second annual Great Race for Clean Air Challenge, a friendly competition between Tri-Valley area employers to encourage the use commute alternatives to and from work. The Great Race for Clean Air Challenge will run from August through September 2009.
