- * Natural gas is used for both pilot and purge gas for the refinery flare system, except for the Emergency Flare that uses nitrogen as purge gas.
The flow is determined using an orifice calculation based on the orifice size in the lines and the line pressure upstream of the orifice.
** The purge gas and pilot gas flows at the Ammonia Plant flare are measured by rotameters in the natural
gas and nitrogen lines.
*** The purge gas and pilot gas flows at the 50 Unit flare are measured by flow meters

Note 1: West Air Flare vented about 0.129 MMSCF of gas due to isolation valve not holding. Flare was out of service and when seal drum level dropped for planned flare outage, gases vented to atmosphere. Operations reestablished seal and leak stopped.
Note 2: H2S Treatment Plant started up on 9/25 and ran until 9/28.
In the case of an invalid sample, the monthly average was used for composition data
