This Advisory is provided to inform you about activities of the District which may affect your operation. It is hoped that it will assist you in your effort to achieve and maintain compliance with applicable air pollution rules and regulations. ATTENTION: DRY CLEANERS ADVISORY FOR REGULATION 11, RULE 16: PERCHLOROETHYLENE AND SYNTHETIC SOLVENT DRY CLEANING OPERATIONS TRAINING DEADLINE EXTENDED! The environmental training re-certification courses meeting the requirements of CARB’s Dry Cleaning ATCM and District Regulation 11, Rule 16 originally due by April 1, 1999 has been extended to December 31, 1999. All dry cleaning facilities must have at least one employee that completes the initial course of an environmental training program and receives certification from CARB (California Air Resources Board). The certification is valid for 3 years. Each trained employee must complete a refresher course at least once every 3 years. Courses to re-certify trainers by the California Air Resources Board are complete and courses are currently available. A list of CARB certified instructors was provided in the District’s Permit Assistance Advisory dated July 21, 1999 and is also available on CARB's web site.
