Agricultural Equipment

Air District funding is available to help upgrade or replace mobile, stationary, and portable agricultural equipment.

How to Apply

Before applying, review our Apply for Funding web page to see which project categories are open. Complete applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds have been awarded. The application due date has been extended until 5:00 PM on April 11, 2024. Only complete applications will be evaluated. 

Eligible Project Types

  • Equipment Replacement: Replace old existing equipment with the cleanest available equipment, including alternative fuel and zero-emissions equipment.
  • Equipment Repower: Replace an old, existing engine with a newer emission-certified engine, including alternative fuel and zero-emissions engines.
  • Retrofit Purchase: Install an emission control device on an existing engine.
  • Infrastructure projects: Install or expand electric or alternative fuel infrastructure to power agricultural equipment in conjunction with an equipment replacement or engine repower project.

Key Eligibility Criteria

  • Equipment must operate at least 75 percent of the time within the Air District’s boundaries.
  • Eligible equipment types include but are not limited to agricultural loaders, tractors, dozers, excavators, scrapers, forklifts, stationary and portable engines, etc.
  • Public and private entities are eligible.
  • Existing equipment must be operational, at least 25 horsepower, owned by the applicant for at least two years, and must have a functional hour meter reader.
  • Funding cannot be used for upgrades or equipment purchases that are already required by an existing regulation, local ordinance, or contract.
  • Applicants must submit an application, be awarded, and enter into a funding agreement with the Air District prior to starting their projects. Projects that have started (e.g., placing an order or deposit) prior to the funding agreement being signed by all parties will be disqualified.
