Air District Programs

  • Clean Cars for All: Grants for income-qualified Bay Area residents to retire their older car and replace it with a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery, or hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle, or a pre-paid card to use for public transit and purchase e-bikes.
  • Community Grants Program: Nonprofit organizations and school communities can apply for grants to fund local projects that decrease air pollution while increasing community awareness of and engagement with air quality issues.
  • Vehicle Buy Back Program: Get paid to turn in your working older car or small truck for scrapping.
  • Clean HEET Program: Funding to replace freestanding wood stoves and wood-burning fireplace inserts with electric heat pumps. Please join our email mailing list to receive alerts when this program launches.

Other Opportunities

  • Clean Vehicle Rebate Project: This program, administered by the Center for Sustainable Energy, offers rebates for the purchase or lease of new, eligible zero-emission and plug-in hybrid light-duty vehicles.
  • Bay Area Bike Share: Learn about Bay Area Bike Share, the nation's first unified regional bicycle sharing program serving Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, San Jose, and San Francisco. Bay Area residents who qualify for CalFresh, SFMTA Lifeline Pass, or PG&E CARE utility discounts are eligible to join the Bike Share for All program that offers discounted rates.
