The BAAQMD provides a wide
range of insurance benefits to its employees via a cafeteria-style plan.
Employees receive a benefit "allowance" to pay for various types of insurance,
including health, dental and vision. The amount of the allowance varies
for different groups of employees.
The
BAAQMD contracts with the California Public Employees Retirement System
(CalPERS) for retirement benefits under the miscellaneous "2% @ 55" plan.
The BAAQMD currently pays both the employer and employee contribution
for retirement.
Other
benefits for BAAQMD employees include sick leave, vacation leave, and
holidays.
Below
is a table with downloadable documents outlining the benefits provided
for each employee group, as well as some of the forms used to sign up
for benefits. We will be adding more forms to this table on a regular
basis.
