Requesting An Application Package
Before requesting an application package, please review the duties and minimum requirements stated in the recruitment announcement. If you are interested in a vacancy, and feel that you meet the qualifications, you may request an application package in several ways.

Contents of the Application Package
Each application package typically includes a Vacancy Announcement, a Supplemental Application with job-specific questions for you to respond to, and a general BAAQMD application form.

Application Acceptance
To apply for a position, you must submit a completed BAAQMD application form, respond to any supplemental questions included with the vacancy announcement, and send these items signed and dated to the Human Resources Office. If there are other materials requested, you must include those as well. The Human Resources Office must receive your application materials by the closing date and time indicated in the Vacancy Announcement. A postmark on the due date is not sufficient. Faxed application packages are not accepted, your original signature is required.

You may include your resume, however, resumes will not be accepted in lieu of a completed application.

Notifications of examination date, time and place will be mailed at least one week prior to the examination. However, because we cannot guarantee postal delivery*, it is up to the applicant to follow up by calling 415-749-4980 if you do not receive a notice.

*All applicants, including BAAQMD employees, must notify the Human Resources Office in the event of a change of address during any phase of the examination process.

Employment Eligibility
Federal law requires all employees to provide Verification of Eligibility to work in this country. The BAAQMD will not prepare or file a labor condition application with the Department of Labor.

In the event that you are offered a position with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, both you and the BAAQMD must comply with the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. To do this, you will be asked to provide documentation that establishes your identity and employment eligibility to work in the United States. If you cannot provide this documentation, you will not be eligible to work for the BAAQMD.

Click on Verification of Eligibility to view a list of acceptable documentation. Please note that you must provide either 1 piece of documentation from List A or your must provide both 1 piece of documentation from List B and 1 piece of documentation from List C.
