The Air District has made a preliminary decision to issue interchangeable emission reduction credits (IERCs) to PG&E. IERCs may be used as an alternative means of achieving compliance with District Regulation 9, Rule 11, subject to review under Regulation 2, Rule 9. The credits are for NOx emissions reductions accomplished by installing new control systems and using low emission combustion practices at the Hunters Point Power Plant.
