The Air District has opened registration for businesses from across the region to compete in the Great Race for Clean Air, a friendly competition that encourages employees to carpool, vanpool, walk, bike or ride transit to work, instead of driving alone.

The Air District is issuing a Spare the Air Alert for smog on Wednesday, July 10.  Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. Very high inland temperatures in the 100’s and weak afternoon sea breeze, along with motor vehicle exhaust, will create elevated concentrations of ozone, or smog.

The Air District is extending a Spare the Air Alert for smog through Thursday, July 11. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy again. Very high inland temperatures in the 100’s and weak afternoon sea breeze, along with motor vehicle exhaust, will continue to create elevated concentrations of ozone, or smog.

The Air District has issued two separate Compliance Advisories. Any entities that engage in source testing activities or that own, operate, or maintain Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) unit(s) in the Bay Area are encouraged to review these advisories. Each advisory includes important guidance/requirements relating to source testing, CEMS unit maintenance, and/or source test reporting.
