National and regional fire outlooks indicate near to above-normal wildfire potential across Northern California through much of the summer, driven by dry fuels, developing drought conditions and an active start to the wildfire season that is already impacting parts of the state.

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for smoke for the Bay Area through tomorrow, Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Northerly winds near the Ranch Fire in Tehama County south of Redding will allow some smoke to move toward the Bay Area. The smoke is expected to continue to cause hazy skies and potentially elevated hourly air quality readings for fine particulates today and tomorrow, but air quality is not expected to exceed the federal health standard.
