The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke for Friday, July 19. Smoke from fires in Northern California is expected to impact the Bay Area on Friday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. 

The Air District is extending a Spare the Air Alert for smoke through tomorrow, Saturday, October 26, for the entire the region. The Air District is closely monitoring smoke impacts from the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County and the northern portion of the Bay Area is currently experiencing smoke impacts. Additional smoke impacts are expected to spread across the region starting this afternoon as smoke mixes down to the surface.

Due to heavy smoke blowing into the Bay Area from the Camp Fire in Butte County, the Air District is issuing a Winter Spare the Air Alert starting tonight, Thursday, November 8, through Friday, November 9.

The Air District is extending the air quality advisory for wildfire smoke through Saturday, July 20. Smoke from fires in Northern and Southern California is expected to impact the Bay Area through Saturday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. 

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for the Bay Area due to wildfire smoke from fires in northern Sacramento Valley through Saturday, July 12. Smoke from the Butler and Green wildfires is moving down the Sacramento Valley and is expected to continue to impact air quality in portions of the Bay Area on Saturday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy at times on Saturday. 

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory due to wildfire smoke from Canadian wildfires in the Bay Area for Monday, June 2 and Tuesday, June 3. Smoke from various Canadian wildfires in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba is expected to impact air quality in parts of the Bay Area on Monday and Tuesday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA's Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy on Monday and Tuesday.

The Air District is issuing another Spare the Air Alert for smoke tomorrow, Wednesday, October 30, for the entire region. While good air quality is expected through the region late today through tomorrow morning, air quality is expected to degrade again tomorrow afternoon as winds decrease and smoke drains south into the Bay Area. Strong winds through Wednesday afternoon may also cause growth of the Kincade Fire and new local fires with additional smoke impacts.

The Air District is issuing another Spare the Air Alert for smoke tomorrow, Thursday, October 31, for the entire region. While good to moderate air quality is expected through most of the region tomorrow, air quality is forecast to be in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range in Windsor and Santa Rosa. Moderate air quality is expected throughout the rest of the North Bay with areas near the fire still impacted by unhealthy air quality. Air quality should be in the good to moderate range for the rest of the week for most of the Bay Area – which is normal this time of year. 

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for the Bay Area due to wildfire smoke from fires in northern Sacramento Valley for today, Thursday, July 10, and Friday, July 11. Smoke from the Butler and Green wildfires has been moving down the Sacramento Valley and is expected to impact air quality in the eastern portion of the Bay Area down to Santa Clara Valley on Thursday and Friday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy at times on Thursday and Friday.   

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert due to wildfire smoke from the Glass Fire in Napa and Sonoma counties through Thursday, October 8, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors. While onshore winds will continue to blow smoke out of much the Bay Area, localized impacts near the Glass Fire and intermittent impacts in the broader Bay Area will continue.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is advising Bay Area residents that although the forecast indicates the region will not exceed the federal health standard for smog, conditions remain elevated for fire danger and potential smoke impacts. 

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert due to wildfire smoke from the Glass Fire in Napa and Sonoma counties through Saturday, October 10, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors. While onshore winds will continue to blow smoke out of much of the Bay Area, localized impacts near the Glass Fire will continue. 

Due to continued smoke impacts in the Bay Area from the Camp Fire in Butte County, the Air District is extending the Winter Spare the Air Alert through Wednesday, November 21.

As a reminder, due to heavy smoke in the Bay Area from the extensive Camp Fire in Butte County, the Air District has extended the Winter Spare the Air Alert through Friday, November 16.

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert due to wildfire smoke from the Glass Fire in Napa and Sonoma counties through Tuesday, October 6, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors. Wildfire smoke combined with high inland temperatures and vehicle exhaust may also cause unhealthy smog, or ozone, accumulation in the Bay Area.

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert due to wildfire smoke from the Glass Fire in Napa and Sonoma counties through Friday, October 2, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors. Wildfire smoke combined with high inland temperatures and vehicle exhaust may also cause unhealthy smog, or ozone, accumulation in the Bay Area.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory today through Friday, October 16, due to possible wildfire smoke impacts. There is no Spare the Air Alert in effect and air quality is not expected to be unhealthy. Smoke from the August Complex Fire and potentially the Creek Fire are expected to drift into the Bay Area, causing smoky and hazy skies today and tomorrow.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is issuing the winter season’s first Spare the Air Alerts for Sunday, December 1, and Monday, December 2, which ban burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors.

The Air District is issuing a Health Advisory & Spare the Air Alert through Wednesday, October 18, due to unpredictable air quality in the Bay Area. Unhealthy air quality from the wildfires continues to plague the North Bay counties as well as other parts of the Bay Area. Due to active wildfires and changing wind patterns, air quality throughout the Bay Area could be impacted for many days to come. Outside of the active fire areas, air quality will be variable and unpredictable.

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert through Sunday, December 17, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors. Smoke from wood burning combined with light winds and low overnight temperatures is expected to continue causing air quality to be unhealthy in the Bay Area. A high-pressure system in place over Northern California will act like a lid, trapping smoke at ground level, and offshore winds are forecast to transport air pollution from the Central Valley into the Bay Area.
