The Air District is sending representatives to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP26, in Glasgow, Scotland, from Sunday, October 31 – Friday, November 12. 

The Air District will honor Kaiser Permanente for the Spare the Air Leadership Award on Thursday, May 31, at the 2018 Acterra Business Environmental Awards in San Francisco. 

The Air District is issuing the winter season’s first Spare the Air Alert for tomorrow, Friday, November 25, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors.

The Air District is issuing a Spare the Air Alert for Thursday, December 22, through Christmas Day, December 25, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for Friday, September 25, due to possible wildfire smoke impacts in the North and East Bay. There is no Spare the Air Alert in effect and air quality is not expected to be unhealthy.

The Air District announced that Chevron USA Inc. has agreed to pay $170,000 to settle air quality violations at its refinery in Richmond. The settlement covers 25 Notices of Violation issued for air quality violations at the Richmond Oil Refinery during 2014 and 2015. 

The Air District is hosting an informational workshop about the new Community Health Protection Program on Wednesday, January 31, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at 375 Beale Street in San Francisco with staff from the California Air Resources Board and a panel of community experts. 

The Air District is issuing the first Spare the Air Alert of 2021 for smog on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. Light winds and hot temperatures, along with motor vehicle exhaust, will create elevated concentrations of ozone, or smog.
