The Air District is inviting residents to provide input on revisions to Regulation 2, Rule 5 – New Source Review of Toxic Air Contaminants. The Air District’s New Source Review Program protects air quality when large air pollution sources such as factories and power plants are newly built or modified.

The Air District has posted the Notice of Preparation and Initial Study for the draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Report on the 2016 Clean Air Plan/Regional Climate Protection Strategy.

Illegal Federal Rejection of California Motor Vehicle Emissions Standards Hurts the Bay Area

The Air District continues to take steps to ensure air quality and public health are protected in the Bay Area during the latest phases of the COVID pandemic. This includes keeping our 375 Beale Street office in San Francisco closed until further notice, except for deliveries.

On July 15, 2020, the Air District’s Board of Directors will hold a public hearing to consider approval of Emissions Statement Certification for the 1997, 2008 and 2015 8-hour Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards.  The public comment period is now open and will close on Monday, July 6, 2020.
