The Air District is issuing a Spare the Air Alert for wildfire smoke for Saturday, September 19, 2020.

The Air District is issuing a Spare the Air Alert for smog on Wednesday, July 10.  Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. Very high inland temperatures in the 100’s and weak afternoon sea breeze, along with motor vehicle exhaust, will create elevated concentrations of ozone, or smog.

The Air District is announcing a call for applications for the 2020 Acterra Business Environmental Awards, including the Spare the Air Leadership Award. 

Air quality is an important consideration for schools when planning student activities, especially when the region is being impacted by wildfire smoke. The Air District is extending a Spare the Air Alert through Friday, September 22, due to continued wildfire smoke impacts across the region.
