The Air District is announcing the launch of the Charge! Program’s grant application process to access at least $10 million in grant funding to offset the cost of purchasing and installing new chargers for light-duty electric vehicles at multi-family housing facilities, destinations, transit parking locations, and workplaces across the Bay Area. This funding is available to businesses, homeowner associations, non-profits, public agencies, and tribes. Applications are being accepted now through June 6, 2025, at 5PM.

On June 17, the Air District’s Board of Directors voted to adopt a resolution condemning racism and injustice and affirming the agency’s commitment to diversity, equity, access and inclusion.

For eligible facilities, the Air District’s online permitting system gives regulated industry the ability to submit permit applications, renew permits, update facility information, and access permit documents. This new web tool allows the public to access enforcement information concerning NOVs issued to facilities across the Bay Area.

The Air District has reached a settlement with Tesoro Refining & Marketing Company that will significantly enhance air monitoring data transparency, providing more information about air pollutants around its refinery in unincorporated Contra Costa County, near Martinez. The agreement requires Tesoro to take new data access and community engagement actions beyond those required by regulation or permit.
