The Air District is extending a Spare the Air Alert through Saturday, January 17, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors. A Spare the Air Alert remains in effect today, Thursday, January 15.

The Air District is issuing the first Spare the Air Alert of 2021 for smog on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy. Light winds and hot temperatures, along with motor vehicle exhaust, will create elevated concentrations of ozone, or smog.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for Thursday, September 17 through Friday, September 18, due to possible smoke impacts from wildfires. There is no Spare the Air Alert in effect Thursday or Friday and air quality is not expected to be unhealthy.
