Due to heavy smoke moving into the Bay Area from the extensive Camp Fire in Butte County, the Air District is extending the Winter Spare the Air Alert through Friday, November 16.

Jack Broadbent, executive officer of the Air District, has issued a statement on President Donald Trump’s decision to leave the Paris climate agreement.

Air quality in the Bay Area continues to be very unhealthy, especially in the fire-impacted counties of Napa, Sonoma and Solano. The smoke plume from the fires has now moved to the South Bay and air quality will be unpredictable and impact the entire Bay Area through the weekend.
