The Air District, in partnership with the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project, held the first steering committee meeting today to develop a community action plan to improve air quality and public health in West Oakland. Beginning December 7, 2021, the Air District’s Charge! program will begin accepting applications to help offset a portion of the cost of purchasing and installing new publicly available electric vehicle charging stations throughout the region. The goal of the Charge! program is to help build a charging network able to support the Bay Area’s electric vehicle adoption goals of 90 percent of the overall vehicle fleet by 2050.
