The Air District is hosting a community workshop in San Leandro, the first in a series of 10 workshops to be held within the next three months, to begin implementation of state law AB 617 which requires reduction of air pollution in communities with high air pollution burdens.

Spare the Air Status

At the workshops, the public will have an opportunity to hear about the requirements of state law AB 617, learn how it affects specific communities in the Bay Area, and receive an overview of local air pollution control efforts and funding opportunities. The public can make suggestions and provide feedback on a wide variety of issues, including the selection of priority communities for the first few years of program implementation, the development of action plans, the identification of monitoring needs, and the allocation of funding.
