The Air District is announcing the deployment of seven zero-emission tractors at Bay Area farms as part of an approximately $1 million grant through the Funding Agricultural Reduction Measures for Emission Reductions, or FARMER, program to demonstrate zero-emission technology in Bay Area agricultural operations.

The Air District is requiring a new Residential Fireplace Disclosure for anyone selling or leasing property with a wood-burning device in the nine-county Bay Area region. Beginning June 1, anyone selling or leasing residential property within the Bay Area will be required to disclose the health hazards of wood smoke, as part of the signed disclosure documents in real estate purchase or rental transactions.

The Air District's Board of Directors approved allocating $4 million in Community Air Protection Incentives funding to support home and school air filtration programs in Bay Area communities at their June 4 meeting. As part of this initiative, the Air District Board authorized up to $1.3 million of upgrades in public schools in Richmond, North Richmond, San Pablo, and Tara Hills. An additional $1.7 million will be used to expand air filtration upgrades in schools in Bayview-Hunters Point in San Francisco, and $1 million will be allocated to the Air District’s Home Air Filtration program.
