Air District issues air quality advisory for Thursday and FridayThe Air District is issuing an air quality advisory due to wildfire smoke from wildfires in the western U.S and Canada for the rest of the day Thursday, August 8, and for Friday, August 9. An inversion layer combined with local pollution and residual smoke from fires in the western U.S. and Canada is impacting air quality in the Bay Area. As onshore winds increase this afternoon and Friday, air quality is expected to be Good to Moderate on the Air Quality Index.

Air District to host final open house for new draft refinery rulesOn Monday, September 28, the Air District is hosting the last of a series of open houses to discuss the agency’s four new and amended draft petroleum refinery emissions reduction rules. This open house will be held at Lincoln Elementary School in Richmond starting at 6pm. The public comment period for these rules and amendments closes on Friday, Oct. 2.
