The 2018 Climate Protection Grant Program will award up to $4.5 million to Bay Area public agencies to accelerate local implementation of greenhouse gas reductions in two program areas: (1) reducing GHGs from existing buildings and (2) fostering innovative strategies (in multiple sectors).

The Air District is announcing the award of a loan guarantee to UCAP Power, a provider of ultracapacitor systems that offer reliable, cost-effective high-power energy storage, to support clean energy in the region.

The Air District has awarded a loan guarantee to Gridscape Solutions, a developer of renewable energy microgrid solutions in California. Gridscape’s microgrids integrate several technologies, including solar panels and lithium-ion battery energy storage systems, to provide renewable power, clean emergency backup power, and grid resiliency. 

The Air District is working with the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project and the West Oakland Health Council, through the Clean Air Filtration Program, to provide portable air filtration units to low-income residents of West Oakland diagnosed with a respiratory illness.
