The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke through Monday, August 21. Smoke from numerous fires in Northern California and the Plant Fire in Southern California is expected to impact air quality throughout the Bay Area on Sunday and Monday, causing air quality to reach low-moderate on the U.S. EPA’s Air Quality Index. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible and the smell of smoke is possible. Pollutant levels are NOT expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard and there is no Spare the Air Alert in effect.

Smoke from the Smith River Complex and other fires in Northern California is expected to impact air quality throughout the Bay Area on Friday, causing air quality to reach low-moderate on the U.S. EPA’s Air Quality Index. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible and the smell of smoke is possible. Pollutant levels are NOT expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard and there is no Spare the Air Alert in effect.

Smoky, hazy skies may be visible and the smell of smoke is possible. Pollutant levels are NOT expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard and there is no Spare the Air Alert in effect.

Smoke from numerous fires in Northern California and Oregon is expected to impact air quality throughout the Bay Area through tomorrow, causing air quality to reach high-moderate on the U.S. EPA’s Air Quality Index. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible and the smell of smoke is possible. Pollutant levels are NOT expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard and there is no Spare the Air Alert in effect for Thursday.

Smoke from wildfires in Northern California is expected to continue to cause hazy and smoky skies across the Bay Area through Monday. Air quality is expected to generally be in the moderate range on the Air Quality Index. Higher concentrations of smoke may intermittently mix to the surface at times, but pollution levels are not expected to exceed federal health standards and no Spare the Air is in effect. 

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke for Saturday, August 21. Smoke from wildfires in Washington, Oregon and Northern California, that moved offshore over the past couple of days, will continue to impact the Bay Area on Saturday. Lingering, lofted smoke over the Bay Area will cause hazy and smoky skies but pollution levels are not expected to exceed federal health standards. Air quality is expected to be in the good to low-moderate range on the Air Quality Index, so no Spare the Air Alert is in effect for Saturday. A Spare the Air Alert remains in effect for today, Friday, August 20. 

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke through Friday, August 20. Smoke from the Northern California wildfires is expected to continue to impact the Bay Area on Thursday and Friday. Light northerly winds will continue to transport smoke toward the Bay Area. Smoke impacts are forecast to be more widespread than last week. Air quality is expected to be in the mid to high-moderate range and not exceed the federal health standard, so no Spare the Air Alert is in effect. However, smoke may mix to the surface at times causing intermittent and isolated pockets of elevated pollution levels.

Wind patterns are helping to keep smoke away from the Bay Area today through most of the day on Sunday. However, some smoke is predicted to reach the North Bay by late Sunday afternoon, causing air quality to reach low-Moderate on the U.S. EPA’s Air Quality Index. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible in the North Bay and the smell of smoke is possible at higher elevations. Pollutant levels are NOT expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard and there is no Spare the Air Alert in effect.

The Air District is extending the air quality advisory through Saturday, September 26, due to possible wildfire smoke impacts in parts of the East Bay. There is no Spare the Air Alert in effect and air quality is not expected to be unhealthy.

There is no Spare the Air Alert in effect and air quality is not expected to be unhealthy. Smoke from the August Complex Fire and potentially the Creek Fire are expected to drift into the Bay Area, causing smoky and hazy skies today and tomorrow.

Air quality is expected to be in the Moderate category on Thanksgiving Day and extensive wood burning over the holiday could cause air quality to become unhealthy, especially in inland valleys. A Spare the Air Alert is NOT in effect and wood burning is allowed, but strongly discouraged.
