The Air District is announcing the release of the draft health risk assessment for the AB&I Foundry, which is designed to identify and reduce health risks resulting from the facility’s emissions.

The Air District today released a preliminary health risk assessment from air pollution for the Chevron Refinery in Richmond. It found the estimated cancer and short-term health risks from air emissions for people living near the refinery were above the allowed levels, which requires Chevron to implement a plan to reduce health risk. The public comment period closes on Monday, November 23 at 5 p.m.

The Air District is hosting a joint virtual workshop with Communities for a Better Environment on Friday, May 7, 2021, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM to present, discuss, and receive comments on the draft health risk assessment for AB&I Foundry located in East Oakland.

The Air District will host a public meeting on the preliminary health risk assessment for the Chevron Refinery in Richmond to explain the findings and the comment process. The public comment period closes on Monday, November 23 at 5 p.m.
