2008 年 12 月 3 日，灣區空氣品質管理局董事會修正了條例 8 規則 45：機動車及移動設備噴漆作業。從事移動噴漆作業的任何人士，應向灣區空氣品質管理局進行移動噴漆作業備案登記，並支付相關費用。

燒烤爐會產生揮發性有機化合物 (VOC) 及顆粒物 (PM) 等空氣污染物。VOC 與大氣層中的其他化合物發生反應，形成地表臭氧，通常成為煙霧。直徑等於或小於 10 微米的細顆粒稱為 PM10，可穿過通風系統，進入到大氣中。

1998 年，加州空氣資源委員會 (CARB) 將柴油顆粒物 (PM) 確認為毒性空氣污染物 (TAC)。為了減少公眾在柴油 PM 中的暴露，CARB 已批准了一系列監管措施，影響到了在加州運行的絕大部分柴油機。灣區空氣品質管理局（空氣局）及加州的其他當地空氣品質機構應執行這些條例，也稱為「毒性物質空氣傳播控制措施」(ATCM)。針對壓縮點火 (CI) 固定發動機的 ATCM 包括對農業作業中所用柴油發動機的要求。

2008 年 11 月 19 日，灣區空氣品質管理局董事會採納了條例 8 規則 20 第 408 節——小型設施登記。包含印刷工藝作業的所有設施如落在該行政要求範圍內，必須向灣區空氣品質管理局登記其作業，並支付相關費用。
