The Air District’s Board of Directors voted to adopt new amendments that will strengthen the agency’s wood-burning regulation to safeguard public health against the hazards of fine particle pollution, especially during wildfires.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke for Monday, August 30. Pollution levels are not expected to exceed federal health standards and no Spare the Air Alert is in effect.

The Air District is offering grants of up to $25,000 to nonprofit partners and community-based organizations to support and sponsor community-based solutions that address air pollution while also helping reduce our global climate impact. 

The Air District is now accepting applications for its new zero-emission transport refrigeration unit, or TRU, funding program, aimed at reducing air pollution from diesel-powered refrigeration units used in the transport of perishable goods.
