The Air District is currently in the process of developing Air Quality widgets geared towards the Bay Area.
What is a Widget?
Widgets are small components that can be added to Web pages. They are often small tools or mini-applications such as news consolidators, calculators, and daily / local weather displays. (You can't put a widget on your desktop; widget-like components that can be placed on your desktop or dashboard are called Gadgets.) To add a widget to a web site, a small chunk of code needs to be added to the web page on which the widget should be displayed.
Download the Air District’s Wood Burning Status Widget and "Check before You Burn." The widget will tell you when wood burning is allowed in the Bay Area and when a Winter Spare the Alert is in effect that makes the use of fireplaces, woodstoves, pellet stoves or other wood-burning devices illegal.
