Residential Pathway

Services

Eligible multi-family buildings can receive building improvements and other services, including the following:

• Home energy-efficiency assessment and recommendations
• An assessment of environmental conditions that affect air quality in the building and recommendations to reduce resident exposure to outdoor air pollutants
• Home retrofits that increase the home’s energy efficiency (e.g., energy-efficient appliances, insulation, HVAC), lower energy bills, and improve comfort
• Funding to pay for eligible home retrofit measures, up to $1,000 per unit in multi-family buildings

Eligibility

To be eligible for the program, a residential home or building must meet both of the following criteria:

• Be located in an overburdened community (as defined by being within one of the census tracts in the top 30 percent identified by CalEnviroScreen 4.0 scoring) within Contra Costa County or Alameda County

and

• Be located within 1,000 feet of major transportation sources, such as highways, rail, ports, and major transportation corridors

  Description

  Serves residents of multi-family buildings most impacted by traffic air pollution.
  
  Services focused on reducing residents' exposure to outdoor air pollution and related health effects through home and energy efficiency improvements.
  
  This program will work with property owners directly to serve up to 1000 units in overburdened communities within Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.

  Overburdened Communities		Live in overburdened communities (CalEnviroScreen 4.0 top 30% scoring)
  Transportation Sources		Live < 1,000 feet from major transportation sources
