Alertas en vigencia de Spare the Air (proteja el aire)  La quema de madera está prohibida.  Las prohibiciones de quema de madera debido a los incendios forestales pueden ocurrir durante todo el año.  El humo de los incendios forestales en toda el Área de la Bahía está afectando la calidad del aire.  

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert for smog and the air quality advisory for smoke through Tuesday. Wildfire smoke combined with high inland temperatures and vehicle exhaust are expected to cause unhealthy smog, or ozone, accumulation in the Bay Area. Smoke from Northern California wildfires is expected to continue to impact the region creating hazy and smoky skies.

The Air District is announcing the start of the Spare the Air summer smog season on Monday, May 2. Millions of cars on our roadways each day remain the largest source of summertime smog pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in the Bay Area. The Spare the Air campaign encourages Bay Area residents to drive less and look for ways to share, shorten, or change their commutes to help reduce smog, traffic, and gridlock in the region.

The Air District has awarded the 2022 Spare the Air Leadership Award to MCE for their Low-Income Families and Tenants or LIFT program, which has already given over $1 million in rebates to 680 homes, saving over 7,800 kilowatt-hours of energy per year.
