Learn about the Air District's Agricultural Waste and Wildfire Prevention Chipping Programs.
Agricultural Waste Chipping Program
The Agricultural Waste Chipping Program encourages qualifying agricultural operations located within the Air District’s nine Bay Area counties to apply for free chipping services provided by The Davey Tree Expert Company to dispose of agricultural waste material in lieu of open burning the material.
Chipping this material will eliminate unhealthy particulate matter emissions that would result if the material were burned.
Wildfire Prevention Chipping Pilot Program
As part of the Wildfire Air Quality Response Program, the Wildfire Prevention Chipping Pilot Program encourages qualifying properties located within the Air District’s nine Bay Area counties to apply for free chipping services provided by The Davey Tree Expert Company to dispose of material in lieu of open burning the material. The program goal is to reduce fuel loads and wildfire risk to prevent and mitigate future wildfires.
The Air District is accepting applications to both chipping programs on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted.
