Smoke from the Canadian wildfires is expected to impact air quality in the entire Bay Area on Monday and Tuesday. Residents in affected areas should stay alert to news coverage and health warnings related to smoke. Check air quality at fire.airnow.gov and take steps to protect your health from smoke. Learn how at www.baaqmd.gov/wildfiresafety. Pollution levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect.

Governor and state legislature make the Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program permanentThe Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program has been signed into law by Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. Senate Bill 1128, which passed the state legislature without any opposition, authorizes the Air District and MTC to jointly continue the Bay Area Commuter Benefits Program, a program that requires employers with 50 or more full-time employees in the Bay Area to offer commuter benefits to their employees.
