Vehicle Trip Reduction Grant Program


The Vehicle Trip Reduction Grant Program will provide funding to support projects that improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing vehicle trips and miles traveled in the Bay Area.

Reducing single-occupancy commute trips is one of the key strategies for improving air quality in the Bay Area.

For fiscal year ending 2020, approximately $6 million in funding is available for award through the Vehicle Trip Reduction Grant Program to public agencies for projects involving support services and bicycle infrastructure that will reduce vehicle trips.

Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, and only applications received by the deadline will be reviewed. Projects located in a Highly Impacted Community or Episodic Area as defined in the Air District Community Air Risk Evaluation (CARE) Program, or in a Priority Development Area (PDA) will be prioritized.
