Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. Smoke from fires in Northern and Southern California is expected to impact the Bay Area through Saturday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. 

The Air District is advising Bay Area residents that smoke from Northern California wildfires is blowing into the nine-county region today. Smoke impacts can be seen throughout the North and East Bay areas.

Smoke from various wildfires in western Canada and in Alaska is expected to continue to impact air quality in the Bay Area on Monday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy on Monday.
