The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory through Monday due to wildfires that began overnight throughout the greater Bay Area. Numerous lightning strikes have sparked wildfires across the region. Air quality may deteriorate in areas near or downwind of the fires, but PM2.5 is not expected to exceed the national 24-hour standard.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for Friday, September 25, due to possible wildfire smoke impacts in the North and East Bay. There is no Spare the Air Alert in effect and air quality is not expected to be unhealthy.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is issuing an air quality advisory for Sunday, September 20, and Monday, September 21, due to possible smoke impacts from wildfires.

The Air District is extending the air quality advisory through Monday due to smoke from the Mineral Fire in Fresno County in addition to other new fires in the region.

The Air District is extending the air quality advisory through Saturday, September 26, due to possible wildfire smoke impacts in parts of the East Bay. There is no Spare the Air Alert in effect and air quality is not expected to be unhealthy.

The Air District is extending the air quality advisory through Tuesday due to smoke from the Mineral Fire in Fresno County and the Hog Fire in Lassen County. Smoke will likely remain aloft resulting in smoky and hazy skies, but PM2.5 is not expected to exceed the national 24-hour standard.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory today through Friday, October 16, due to possible wildfire smoke impacts. There is no Spare the Air Alert in effect and air quality is not expected to be unhealthy. Smoke from the August Complex Fire and potentially the Creek Fire are expected to drift into the Bay Area, causing smoky and hazy skies today and tomorrow.

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for the greater Bay Area through Tuesday, August 18, due to smoke from wildfires. Numerous lightning strikes sparked wildfires across the region over the past few days. Air quality may deteriorate in areas near or downwind of the fires, but pollutant levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour standard. 

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory through Sunday, October 18, due to possible wildfire smoke impacts. There is no Spare the Air Alert in effect and air quality is not expected to be unhealthy. Smoke from the August Complex and Creek Fires are expected to drift into the Bay Area, causing smoky and hazy skies through Sunday.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is issuing a Spare the Air Alert for wildfire smoke for Sunday, June 16, and Monday, June 17. Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy today and tomorrow due to smoke from the Point Fire in northern Sonoma County.

The Air District is issuing the twentieth Spare the Air Alert for smoke today, Thursday, October 24, for the entire the region. The Air District is closely monitoring smoke impacts from the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County and the northern portion of the Bay Area is experiencing smoke impacts. Additional impacts may spread across the Bay Area this evening and into tomorrow. Residents should follow evacuation orders and instructions from local health officials.

Smoke from various Canadian wildfires in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba is expected to impact air quality in the Bay Area through Wednesday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level are hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible, and air quality may become unhealthy through Wednesday, June 4.

Smoke from various Canadian wildfires in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba is expected to impact air quality in the Bay Area through Thursday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level are hard to predict. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible, and air quality may become unhealthy through Thursday, June 5.

Smoke from various wildfires in western Canada and in Alaska is expected to impact air quality in parts of the Bay Area on Sunday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy on Sunday. 

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory due to wildfire smoke from Canada and Alaska in the Bay Area through Monday, June 23. Smoke from various wildfires in western Canada and in Alaska is expected to continue to impact air quality in the Bay Area on Monday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy on Monday. 

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for the Bay Area due to wildfire smoke from fires in northern Sacramento Valley through Saturday, July 12. Smoke from the Butler and Green wildfires is moving down the Sacramento Valley and is expected to continue to impact air quality in portions of the Bay Area on Saturday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy at times on Saturday. 

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for the Bay Area due to wildfire smoke from fires in northern Sacramento Valley through Monday, July 14. Smoke from the Butler and Green wildfires is still moving down the Sacramento Valley and is expected to continue to impact air quality in portions of the Bay Area on Sunday and Monday. Areas that are expected to be most impacted will be parts of the North Bay and East Bay and higher elevation locations. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map.  Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, the smell of smoke is possible and air quality may become unhealthy at times on Sunday and Monday. 

The Air District is lifting an air quality advisory for the Bay Area due to wildfire smoke that was originally scheduled to last through today, Monday, July 14. Over the weekend, smoke from the Butler and Green wildfires had been moving down the Sacramento Valley and impacting air quality in portions of the Bay Area. However, as of Monday morning, the Bay Area is experiencing strong onshore winds, and smoke has remained mostly outside of the region. Air quality has been in the Good Air Quality Index category. Moderate onshore winds are expected to continue into Tuesday, keeping the smoke outside of the Bay Area. As the week progresses, these onshore winds will turn southerly in northern California, and this also is expected to keep the smoke from moving towards our region.

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert that is in place today, Saturday, August 28, through tomorrow, Sunday, August 29, due to wildfire smoke. The burning of wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors is prohibited.
