The Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s 2018-19 Winter Spare the Air season ended February 28, with 16 Winter Spare the Air Alerts called from November through February.

The Air District is extending the Spare the Air Alert for wildfire smoke through Wednesday, September 16. This will be the 29th and 30th consecutive Spare the Air Alert called.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District announced today that recent flaring incidents at the Chevron Refinery in Richmond have resulted in the increased scrutiny of monitoring data as well as investigations as to the cause of the events.

View tables containing data from the Air District’s GHG monitoring network relating to concentrations of significant greenhouse gases as well as meteorological conditions.

The Air District is investigating all potential sources for a series of rotten-egg odor complaints in San Francisco and Richmond - including two flaring incidents at Chevron as well as other potential sources such as ships, area landfills and wastewater treatment facilities.
