The 2017 Plan aims to lead the region to a post-carbon economy, to continue progress toward attaining all state and federal air quality standards, and to eliminate health risk disparities from exposure to air pollution among Bay Area communities.

It will be held at Laney College, 900 Fallon Street in Oakland from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The free day-long regional conference will bring together middle and high school students from the nine Bay Area counties to discuss topics ranging from climate change and public health to transportation and air pollution.

Bates, by awarding him a Lifetime Achievement Award at today’s Board of Directors meeting. The Lifetime Achievement Award is the first of its kind issued by the Air District and honors the distinguished career of those serving to improve air quality and protect the climate for all residents of the Bay Area.
