Valero Refinery in Benicia notified the Air District of ongoing flaring due to a planned shutdown of refinery equipment. Air District inspectors will be closely monitoring. Report air quality complaints: 800-334-ODOR or online.

The Air District has received funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant program, or CPRG, to create a regional climate action plan for the northern and central Bay Area region. (The southern region is part of a separate planning effort.) Learn more about the multi-year planning effort, referred to as the Bay Area Regional Climate Action Planning Initiative, or BARCAP.
Local governments play a critical role in enacting on-the-ground policies and programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Air District’s Climate Protection Planning Program provides planning and policy support to these key partners.
