The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke in eastern Contra Costa County through Thursday, July 14. Smoke from the Marsh Fire is expected to continue to impact the eastern Contra Costa cities of Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley and Brentwood. Onshore winds during the daytime are expected to disperse smoke, but as winds die down overnight localized pollution levels may rise between 10 PM and 9 AM. Pollutant levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect and air quality is expected to be in the moderate range overall.

Smoke from the Marsh Fire is expected to continue to impact the eastern Contra Costa cities of Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley and Brentwood through Tuesday. Onshore winds during the daytime are expected to disperse smoke, but as winds die down overnight localized pollution levels may rise during the overnight and early morning hours. Onshore winds during the daytime are expected to disperse smoke, but as winds die down overnight localized pollution levels may rise during the overnight and early morning hours. Pollutant levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke in eastern Contra Costa County for today and tomorrow, Tuesday, July 12, and Wednesday, July 13. Smoke from the Marsh Fire is expected to impact the eastern Contra Costa cities of Pittsburgh, Antioch, Oakley and Brentwood. Onshore winds during the daytime are expected to disperse smoke, but as winds die down overnight localized pollution levels may rise between 10 PM and 9 AM. Pollutant levels are not expected to exceed the national 24-hour health standard. A Spare the Air Alert is not in effect and air quality is expected to be in the moderate range overall. 

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory due to smoke from the Crystal Fire in Napa County for today, Wednesday, June 5. Localized smoke impacts are possible near Angwin and may impact the Napa Valley from St. Helena to Calistoga. We will be closely monitoring air quality for smoke impacts from this incident.

The Air District is advising Bay Area residents that smoke from the Loma Fire may be impacting Santa Clara County. Light winds blowing south-easterly have transported smoke from the fire into southern Santa Clara County, creating localized impacts.

In partnership with the Air District, Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors Chair John Gioia sent a letter Friday, June 2, to the U.S. Department of Justice requesting at least 40 percent of the penalty against Tesoro Refining & Marketing Company be used for local health initiatives.

The Air District is extending the air quality advisory through Tuesday due to smoke from the Mineral Fire in Fresno County and the Hog Fire in Lassen County. Smoke will likely remain aloft resulting in smoky and hazy skies, but PM2.5 is not expected to exceed the national 24-hour standard.

The Air District has confirmed the source of the odor to be the West Contra Costa County Landfill's compost operation.
