The Air District is announcing its Clean Air Talk series, featuring Air District Board Chair Davina Hurt, to be held in communities throughout the Bay Area.

Starting July 1, 2024, the Air District will offer $1,500 to Bay Area residents to improve local air quality by scrapping their 1998 and older vehicles through the Vehicle Buy Back Program.

The Air District will host an in-person conversation with Air District Board Chair Davina Hurt on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 12 noon – 1 PM at the Greenhouse Community Room in the San Lorenzo Public Library. The conversation will focus on community questions and concerns regarding air quality issues and climate change. 

Today, the South Coast Air Quality Management District filed a petition challenging the U.S. EPA and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s rollbacks to the Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Rule initiated by the Trump Administration. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District and the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District have joined South Coast AQMD as co-petitioners.
