The Air District’s Clean Air Filtration Program aims to provide access to high efficiency air filtration to help those who are most vulnerable to wildfire smoke and air pollution. The Air District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke from the Sites Fires, located in western Colusa County, through Wednesday, June 19.

Today, the Air District is issuing its fifth Spare the Air Alert for smog this year in addition to the ongoing Air Quality Advisory for wildfire smoke.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is extending an air quality advisory for wildfire smoke from the Sites Fire, located in western Colusa County, through Thursday, June 20. 

The Air District is extending a Spare the Air Alert for wildfire smoke through Sunday, August 30, which bans burning wood, manufactured fire logs or any other solid fuel, both indoors and outdoors. Wildfire smoke from the numerous fires inside and outside of the Bay Area will continue to cause elevated levels of smoke pollution over the weekend in localized portions of the North Bay and Santa Clara County near the fires.

This will be the 18th and 19th consecutive Spare the Air Alert called due to wildfire smoke. Smoke from fires in Santa Cruz and Marin Counties, as well as other large fires in northern California, are expected to create isolated pockets of unhealthy air quality in the North Bay, San Francisco, and the East Bay. The rest of the Bay Area is expected to have good to moderate air quality.
