Planned prescribed burning on Angel Island Wednesday has been canceled.
Air quality is improving following today’s burn, and the Air District continues to monitor smoke across the region. Crews may remain on site tomorrow to extinguish remaining hot spots, but no additional prescribed burning is planned. Wednesday’s Spare the Air Alert is for ozone and is separate from today’s smoke impacts.

Learn about grant funding for vehicles and infrastructure that improve air quality in the region.
On-Road Clean Air Vehicles and Infrastructure
The following are eligible project categories. Please see the Apply for Funding page to see what is currently available for funding.
- Trucks: Replace on-road vehicles with newer, lower-emission equipment by applying for funding through our Carl Moyer Program, or the Goods Movement Program.
- Electric Vehicle Charging Stations: Install new publicly available plug-in electric charging stations for light-duty vehicles at workplaces, multifamily dwelling units, and public locations.
- Transit, Shuttle, and School Buses: Replace transit, shuttle, and public school buses with zero-emission vehicles and to install charging/fueling infrastructure.
- Infrastructure: Install new, convert existing, or expand existing battery-charging, hydrogen-fueling, and other infrastructure for medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
Off-Road Equipment and Infrastructure
- Off-road Equipment: Upgrade or replace off-road diesel equipment.
- Marine Vessels: Upgrade or replace commercial diesel-powered marine vessels.
- Agricultural Equipment: Upgrade or replace off-road diesel farm equipment.
- Locomotives: Upgrade or replace locomotive equipment.
- Infrastructure: Install new, convert existing, or expand existing battery-charging, hydrogen-fueling, and other infrastructure for off-road equipment.
