The Air District and the Environmental Democracy Project are proud to announce a landmark settlement agreement designed to further a shared commitment to transparency, public health and environmental justice.

The Air District has reached a pivotal settlement with Chevron that will significantly enhance air monitoring data transparency, providing more information about air pollutants around the Richmond refinery. The agreement requires Chevron to take new data access and community engagement actions beyond those required by regulation or permit.

The Air District has reached an agreement with Argent Materials, Inc., that resolves violations at the company’s aggregate recycling facility in East Oakland. Under the terms of the settlement agreement, Argent will install and operate a fenceline air monitoring system at both yards of its East Oakland facility to enhance transparency and provide continuous air quality data to the Air District and the community.

The Air District has reached a settlement with Tesoro Refining & Marketing Company that will significantly enhance air monitoring data transparency, providing more information about air pollutants around its refinery in unincorporated Contra Costa County, near Martinez. The agreement requires Tesoro to take new data access and community engagement actions beyond those required by regulation or permit.

The Air District joined the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and other local agencies to reach a settlement to reduce harmful air emissions at Lehigh Cement and Lehigh White Cement portland cement manufacturing plants nationwide, including their Cupertino plant.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District today announced a recent settlement with Chevron U.S.A to pay a $146,000 civil penalty for air quality violations at its refinery in Richmond. The settlement covers 22 notices of violation that the Air District issued for incidents that occurred between 2012 and 2014. 

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District announced a recent agreement with Tesoro Refining & Marketing Co. to pay a $285,000 civil penalty to settle a single air quality violation at its Golden Eagle Refinery in Martinez.

The Air District announced today that Chevron USA Inc. has agreed to pay $146,500 to settle air quality violations at its refinery in Richmond. The settlement covers 33 Notices of Violation issued for air quality violations during 2016-2018.

The Air District announced today that Chevron USA Inc. has agreed to pay $147,000 to settle violations at its refinery in Richmond. This settlement covers 29 Notices of Violation issued for air quality violations at the Richmond oil refinery during 2016 – 2018.

The Air District has settled with Valero Oil Co. - California for $196,000 in civil penalties for air quality violations at its refinery in Benicia. The settlement covers 23 notices of violation that the Air District issued for incidents that occurred in 2012.

The Air District announced today that Tesoro Refining & Marketing Co. has agreed to pay $646,140 to settle air pollution violations at its Golden Eagle Refinery in Martinez. The settlement covers 36 notices of violation issued to Tesoro for non-compliance at its refinery in 2012.

The Air District announced that Chevron USA Inc. has agreed to pay $170,000 to settle air quality violations at its refinery in Richmond. The settlement covers 25 Notices of Violation issued for air quality violations at the Richmond Oil Refinery during 2014 and 2015. 

The Air District is announcing that Tesoro Refining & Marketing Company has agreed to pay $2,227,000 to settle violations at its refinery in Martinez. This settlement covers 58 Notices of Violation issued for air quality violations at its Golden Eagle Refinery between 2014 and 2018.
