The Air District has confirmed the source of the odor to be the West Contra Costa County Landfill's compost operation.

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for smoke for the upper portion of the North Bay tomorrow, Friday, November 1, through Sunday. Winds will be light near the fires which will allow some of the smoke to drop south to Windsor, Santa Rosa and potentially northern Napa Valley. Air quality in the upper North Bay will be moderate with some hourly readings in the unhealthy for sensitive groups range on the Air Quality Index scale. For the rest of the Bay Area, air quality is expected to be in the good to moderate range for the rest of the week.

Air quality in the Bay Area is forecast to be in the good range.  Winds are currently blowing smoke from the Wragg fire burning near Lake Berryessa to the north and east of our region. Smoky conditions have been observed in Yolo County and parts of the Sacramento region.

The Air District announced today the release of the draft Path to Clean Air Community Emissions Reduction Plan for Richmond-North Richmond-San Pablo. The draft plan is now open to the public for review and comment through January 19, 2024.

The Air District is issuing a smoke advisory today due to multiple fires that developed overnight in the North Bay. Heavy smoke from these wildfires in the North Bay counties is causing very unhealthy air quality throughout the region and the smoke is moving into other parts of the Bay Area due to winds.

The Air District is issuing a smoke advisory for the North and East Bay areas, today Monday, October 16, 2017. Unhealthy air quality from the wildfires continues to plague the North Bay counties.
