Learn about the Air District’s newly established Community Investments Office and the plan to implement programs that direct funding to communities most impacted by air pollution.

The Air District has sent a strong letter to the Governor’s office, expressing an “opposition unless amended” position on state bills AB 617 and AB 398.

The Air District continues to take steps to ensure air quality and public health are protected in the Bay Area during the latest phases of the COVID pandemic. This includes keeping our 375 Beale Street office in San Francisco closed until further notice, except for deliveries.

The Air District’s Finance Office has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association for its fiscal year 2025–2026 budget document. The Air District’s Director of Finance, Stephanie Osaze, also received a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Preparation, instrumental in achieving this award.

The public comment period for the Draft Guidelines for the Local Community Benefits Fund for Benicia, Richmond, and surrounding areas closes on Tuesday, November 25, at 5:00 PM. The Draft Guidelines describe the Local Community Benefits Fund, which will reinvest penalty funds back into communities impacted by air quality violations, supporting local projects that improve public health, reduce pollution, and promote a just transition.
