The Air  District will accept proposals for the Community Health Protection Grant Program beginning April 29 for up to $50,000 from community groups, neighborhood associations and other community-based, local non-profit organizations in designated Bay Area neighborhoods most impacted by air pollution.

The Air District is soliciting applications for thirteen seats on its Community Advisory Council. The thirteen open seats represent: Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Solano counties, as well as at-large and youth seats. 

The Community Advisory Council (CAC) of the Air District invites written comments on amendments to the CAC Charter, the document that guides the governance of the Council.

The Air District is hosting an informational workshop about the new Community Health Protection Program on Wednesday, January 31, 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at 375 Beale Street in San Francisco with staff from the California Air Resources Board and a panel of community experts. 

The Air District is soliciting applications for two seats on its Community Advisory Council (CAC). There are two vacant seats, one for a member who resides or works in Alameda County and one for a representative of Bay Area youth.

The East Oakland Community Emissions Reduction Plan, also known as the Right to Breathe: East Oakland Community Air Quality Justice Plan, has received final approval from the California Air Resources Board, marking a major milestone in the Bay Area Air District’s work with East Oakland residents to reduce local air pollution and advance environmental justice. The Air District and Communities for a Better Environment co-led a process with a Community Steering Committee to create the plan.

The Air District is announcing the availability of $1.5 million through Cycle 2 of the James Cary Smith Community Grant Program for community groups, neighborhood associations, and nonprofits to participate in decisions that impact their environment and health.
