Spare the Air Alert in effect. Wood burning is banned. Burn bans can occur year-round for wildfires. Smoke from wildfires throughout the Bay Area is impacting air quality.  

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory for smoke in Contra Costa and Solano counties due to a fire at MRC’s Martinez refinery.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District announced today that the agency’s independent Hearing Board has ordered Tesla to correct air quality violations at its electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Fremont. A written order is expected to be issued this week.  

The Air District is issuing an air quality advisory due to wildfire smoke from the Marina Fire in the Lower Sherman Island Wildlife Area, north of Antioch, for tonight, March 29, and tomorrow, March 30.

The Air District is extending an air quality advisory due to wildfire smoke from the Pickett Fire through Monday, August 25. Smoke from the Pickett Fire in Napa County is expected to impact Napa, Solano and Sonoma counties through Monday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, and the smell of smoke is possible.

Smoke from the Moon Complex in southwestern Oregon has been drifting southward offshore over the past few days and has mixed with the marine layer that is moving onshore over the Bay Area this Saturday evening and Sunday. Conditions can change rapidly and the amount and location of smoke at ground level is hard to predict. The public can check for real-time smoke pollution levels in their local area with the U.S. EPA’s Fire and Smoke Map. Smoky, hazy skies may be visible, and the smell of smoke is possible.
